Minnesota Hillel is turning 80 this year, and we want U to celebrate with us! Throughout the year we will be hosting volunteer and social-based opportunities for Gopher alumni, community members, and students. Check out these events below!

create a memory - august 13th

Join Minnesota Hillel staff, students, and alumni at the 30th annual Create a Memory event and help provide children of local Minneapolis/St. Paul youth service agencies the unique opportunity to play baseball at Target Field! Create a Memory is a non-profit founded in 1989, originally held in the Hubert Humphrey Metrodome, with the intention of giving each participant the gift of playing ball on an MLB field. Each year, the event includes 10 baseball-related activities in which the children get to run the bases, enjoy pizza, hot dogs and many other treats while meeting celebrities and other special guests!

homecoming shabbat & parade - october 4th

Come on down to campus to kick off the start of the school year with a great Shabbas meal and a front row seat to the Homecoming parade! A Shabbat service will begin at 5:15pm. with dinner and the parade beginning at 6:30pm. Everyone is welcome!

jfcs hag sameach gift wrapping

Volunteer with Jewish Family & Children’s Service of Minneapolis at their annual Hag Sameach event. The Hag Sameach committee works with local synagogues, the Sabes JCC, PRISM, and other organizations to ensure that people in our community who need extra assistance, both during the holidays and during the rest of the year, have a resource for holiday gifts and essential items. The Hillel@80 team will be assisting in packaging these items for the Hanukkah season.

goldy’s 5k run - April 7th

Join the Minnesota Hillel team for a 5k run/walk through campus to benefit the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital. Goldy’s Run was created to raise money for and change the lives of children who suffer from cardiovascular disease.

good deeds day - march 29th

Participate in a Jewish international day of service with Hillel students, campus partners, and community organizations for one giant Good Deeds Day!

maroon & gold shabbat: hillel@80 - may 1st

Celebrate Hillel@80 with over 550 of your favorite Gopher students, alumni, and community members at the BEST Shabbat of the year! This year’s Maroon & Gold Shabbat will be held at TCF Bank Stadium.
